On the Livestock Conservancy's conservation priority list, Jacob sheep are a rare, primitive breed of sheep with origins going back 3,000 years.

Romeldale CVM sheep


The California Variegated Mutant, or CVM, is a mutation of the Romeldale sheep that creates a multi-colored, fine wool fleece. The breed is unique to the US and listed on the Livestock Conservancy’s priority list.

American Buff Geese

Also listed on the Livestock Conservancy list as a conservation priority, American Buff geese are a rare breed that are docile and curious.



The old farmhouse at Ballyhope was built by abolitionist Almond Southwick and his wife Delight in 1840. This makes me ridiculously happy.
